Update 2.4 is Live!

Update 2.4 brings with it a little bit of everything; new tanks, new maps, new features and rebalancing. We've got full patch notes included below if you're eager to dig into the nitty-gritty, but here's some of the key points:

  • The Lost Temple map has been substantially reworked to encourage more varied gameplay and hopefully result in fewer draws while taking the opportunity to improve the map’s visuals. . There's also a brand-new map in the form of Himmelsdorf!
  • Look out for changes made to low-tier tanks to improve the experience for new players and reduce frustration. Weak, unnecessary modules have been removed but, don't worry—players will be compensated if they've already been researched and purchased! We've also adjusted stats to accommodate the changes -- for example, the T18's top engines have been removed but its terrain resistance and traverse speed have been adjusted. These changes will ideally make for a more streamlined, rewarding experience for players working their way through the early tiers!
  • You'll also notice some new tanks on the battlefield with this update, specifically a new line of Japanese tanks! For more information on this tech tree, check out our article with pictures and videos.

Clans

  • A language filter has been implemented for searching recently-created and open Clans: all languages are selected by default, but the player can select just one language. New insignias have also been created for the Clan Profile
  • Clan channel history will now be stored and displayed in the Clan chat even if all Clan members are offline, and Clan tags have been added to the Platoon invite menu

As usual, we're offering two free days of Premium time to celebrate the new update. Read carefully to ensure you get your complimentary Premium time!

  • To receive the two days of Premium time, you must enter the game and play at least one (1) battle, between December 12, 08:00 PT (11:00 ET) and December 13, 08:00 PT (11:00 ET). Regardless of the battle's result, you will receive the bonus immediately after the battle.
  • The two (2) Days of Premium notification will appear in the news section under "Notifications" showing that you have earned it!
  • This bonus Premium time will only be active for 48 hours after the battle

General Changes and Improvements

  • Garage and battle tutorials have been updated to include Japan
  • Due to the introduction of the Japanese nation, all players receive an additional slot; all players, who completed the Garage tutorial before the release of Update 2.4, receive a tier I Japanese tank
  • All players who joined the game after the release of Update 2.4 have one more slot by default
  • Medals for "Technical Engineer: Japan" and "Expert: Japan" have been added to the game
  • Changes made to the missions: some conditions changed; a number of new missions based on the old ones introduced:
  • To complete the missions "Top Class" V-X and "Distinguished Contribution" V-X, your team now has to win
  • To complete the mission "Reconnaissance" IV-X, you have to play on a medium tank. Players in tier IV-VII vehicles will receive XP as a reward
  • To complete the mission "Assault Tanker" IV-X, you have to play on a medium tank and destroy fewer enemies. The reward depends on the vehicle tier
  • The button "Tank Details" in the main Garage window has been replaced with a "Record" button that takes players to their Service Record. Service Record was removed from the side-bar menu
  • When navigating your "Vehicles" tab, the current vehicle in the Garage will display on the Service Record screen
  • Positions of "Average Score per Battle" and "Battle Efficiency" sections have changed in the Service Record and Vehicles tabs
  • Game loading screen updated to include a Japanese vehicle
  • Collision mechanics for the Panther/M10 improved
